THE DRESS COLLECTIVE'S LATEST ARRIVAL: BLACK MOB THE LABEL FROM BRISBANE
The Dress Collective is pleased to welcome BLACK MOB THE LABEL to our growing fashion family! Hailing from Brisbane, the unisex label is a breath of fresh air when it comes to streetwear, offering a range of capes, shorts and layered garments in unique shapes and styles.
Established by Leilani Fonoti in 2014, she has drawn on her multicultural upbringing and industry experience from New Zealand as well as her Bachelor of Fashion Design from BBCD in Brisbane to create a brand that is not just interested in making clothes, but one that will stir something in everyone - whether that be good, bad, uncomfortable or controversial. BLACK MOB THE LABEL strives to be not only a unique and ethical choice of streetwear, but a brand that will not sit on the fence when it comes to pressing social issues like racial equality and LGBT rights.
BLACK MOB THE LABEL is also conscious when it comes to ethical operation, and all fabrics, hardware, embroidery, printing, thread and sewing accessories, machinery, promotional stickers, packaging, tags, labels and all garment manufacturing is sourced from the Brisbane area. All designing, pattern making, toiling and sampling takes place in the BLACK MOB THE LABEL home studio in Logan, Brisbane. Wastage and offcuts are also used to create reusable drawstring bags for order packaging, and smaller scrap fabric pieces are donated to a local daycare centre to use for children's craft activities.
