AWAKEN THE HAUS
AWAKEN THE WHO? Wardrobe staples for men and women.
The name 'Awaken The Haus' (house) hails from the Founder's birthplace of Papua New Guinea. It is the concept of uncovering a deeper, impalpable connection within ourselves and awakening the soul to discover what home means to us. Whether it is a frame of mind, a physical place, or just within ourselves, it is about allowing one's self to feel whole and complete.
Each piece is made ethically in Brisbane, Australia, in our private studio and by local contractors. This means we pay Australian wages, reduce our carbon footprint and are completely transparent. We engage with and support local businesses who share in our philosophy.
'To be kind to the earth and its inhabitants'...
Our garments are made using eco-friendly fabrics such as GOTS certified organic cotton, bamboo, linen and hemp. We also aim to support and develop local artisans from the East Sepik Province of Papua New Guinea. Together, with the NGO Foundation of Women in Agriculture Development (FOWIAD), we will provide a foundation of empowerment for the marginalised while promoting creativity and cultural verve. We break down the issues that are most important to us, not only as a business but as individuals. In every aspect of our business from design and production, to marketing and administration, our decisions are based on minimising the impact to the environment, people and animals.
